A ROCK STAR WELCOME FOR OUR READERS. It’s not every day you get personally entertained by two rock stars, but our exclusive Executive PA Magazine reader event at the five star luxury Swissôtel in Sydney did just that!
Readers were able to experience a brand-new service for the corporate events market in the form of Rock and Roll Team Building plus enjoy a tour of the hotel’s new multi-million dollar renovation.
Once the EAs had arrived the venue was packed to the brim with our guests, who had the chance to listen to a live band while they sipped on cocktails and were treated to canapés by Executive Head Chef Joshua Askew: baked porcini and black truffle tarts with watercress and Wagyu bresola beef were just some of the delights on offer.
Next, split into groups, the EAs experienced a personalised tour of the hotel to showcase its recent renovation, and walked through the Executive level, which was completely cleared just for the event.
The EAs who attended the event were able to view the brand new Executive Rooms and Signature Rooms – which have all been decorated in a contemporary New York loft apartment style with dark grey and white features and a splash of orange in the interior furnishings.
They were also taken through the conference facilities with over 900m2 of flexible and modern conference and meeting spaces, eight meeting rooms and boardrooms, and four dedicated meeting rooms.
Once the inspections were over, and thanks to the hotel’s key partnerships with Staging Connections and Rock and Roll Team Building, the main doors were opened to the ballroom and guests were treated to a night of rock ‘n roll starting with Ciaran Gribbin, lead singer of INXS who played a series of classic rock songs from the renowned Australian band. Gary ‘Angry’ Anderson, best known as the lead singer of rock band Rose Tattoo, followed and the whole house rocked to his version of It’s a Long Way to the Top by AC/DC.
If that wasn’t enough to keep EAs entertained, a meeting room was converted into a cocktail lounge with a bar right in the middle, and the hotel’s mixologist created three signature cocktails for the night. The event was supported by the hotel’s wine partner Hunter Valley winery, Hart and Hunter, with cellar door staff doing wine tastings, paired with cheese.
Executive PA Magazine’s James Brome said it was great to see readers having such a fantastic evening. “We loved seeing readers crowding the stage to get a glimpse of Angry Anderson and Ciaron – and what a great way to showcase this stunning venue than with a rock ‘n roll evening. It truly showed what this five star venue is all about, incredible food, wine and a diverse venue able to cater for a multitude of events – even those with rock stars.”
