Well-known British-born football icon David Beckham’s marriage to Spice Girl Victoria Beckham hit turbulence back in 2004 when his personal assistant, Rebecca Loos, claimed she’d had a passionate affair with him. The allegations were of a four-month affair while he was in Madrid and Victoria was in the UK with their children.
Now, in new book The House of Beckham, author Tom Bower reveals that Rebecca chose to come forward with her claims after she saw David failing to tip a Spanish waitress! A trivial incident for most of us, Bower suggests this was the trigger that saw her decide to go public with her story.
The PA then sold her tale to the News of the World newspaper – and Beckham denied everything.
