A man who worked closely with Donald Trump as his assistant for many years has gone viral online with a cruel video aimed at homeless people.
Unsurprisingly the controversial video, where 34-year-old Johnny McEntee said he distributed fake money to homeless people who thought they were getting a win, was not well-received. He was criticised for cruelty and promoting illegal activities like distributing counterfeit currency, which is a federal crime in the US regardless of the context.
Originally, McEntee insisted his efforts were cleaning up the community because the individuals would be arrested when they attempted to use the counterfeit money. But he since updated the title of the video to: “Just a joke. Everyone calm down”.
McEntee was Trump’s personal assistant during his presidency and but was dismissed by White House chief of staff John Kelly in March 2018 after failing a background check. It revealed he was under investigation over debt-related issues from gambling.
His work as a PA for the Trump administration included work on withdrawing US troops from multiple international posts by the end of Trump’s presidency. McEntee was also part of the removal and replacement of the defense secretary.
Now, he is still involved in right-wing political activities and runs a dating app specifically for conservatives. He also acts as a senior adviser to the controversial Project 2025 group, which claims to rid Washington of corrupt politicians.
