CANADA BAY CLUB SET TO IMPRESS. Executive PA Magazine readers wowed by multi-million dollar transformation at Canada Bay Club in NSW.
Canada Bay Club’s impressive new refurbishment took many of our readers by surprise during an evening at the venue in Sydney’s inner west last month.
The readers were greeted by a pianist playing in the Kings Bay Lounge and treated to canapés of petite crab sandwiches, roast duck caramelised onion tart and avocado tartlets, before making their way through the club where they were able to explore the $9.5 million dollar brand new Function Centre.
The new centre offers spaces that are stylish, modern and elegant, and suitable for a wide range of special occasions, corporate and community events. All have been designed to be flexible and adapt to different needs with most of the rooms benefiting from natural light. Operable walls provide further room versatility particularly for corporate events and workshops with the rooms able to provide breakout or registration areas.
Considerable investment has been made with stateof-the-art audiovisual equipment available in every room, which is user friendly with curtains, lighting and all controlled by the touch of a button.
The group were able to experience the venue’s food and beverage including a pasta station of gnocchi with beef cheek ragout and casarecce – a small taste of a menu which can be customised to suit any event from 10 delegates to 300 guests.
HERE’S WHAT OUR READERS HAD TO SAY…
“It was good to know that such a venue exists. The catering was very nice, presented well, comparable to five-star hotels. The staff were all attentive and friendly. One additional feature was their audio-visual where it’s complementary/ part of the room hire, state-of-the-art, and easy to operate, no need for a technician. From personal experience AV hire and service can cost a considerable amount. It is good to note that they support charities and there’s plenty of complementary parking for guests.”
-Carrie Tambakis, Medical & Scientific Affairs
“The rooms were beautifully styled, the staff were fun, friendly and very professional, and the food was delightful. The venue is a wee way from the city, but I found it was an easy ferry ride to Cabarita Wharf and a quick taxi/drive from there to the venue. Alternatively, a shuttle bus can be arranged with the Canada Bay Club to collect you from somewhere nearby if needed. The state-of-the-art sound system and ease of use of the equipment was really impressive and the coffee machines in each room an added bonus.”

“The recent renovations of the function space and the installation of state-of-theart technology are a huge plus, as is the flexibility of the spaces available. The staff were highly professional and personal in their approach to specific needs in relation to the functions I organise. The easy to use audiovisual system wouldn’t faze even the most technologically challenged presenter. The styling of the rooms was amazing and the availability of a stylist (cost dependent on needs, but not exorbitant) to assist when planning events is a definite plus for me.”

“The staff at the club were very friendly, helpful and welcoming. They were all obviously very proud to work there too which is nice to see. The venue itself was beautiful, very tastefully refurbished with state-of-the-art equipment, and the food was amazing. The theming of the rooms was also excellent. I would have no hesitation in recommending the venue for an ‘out of the city’ experience. Transport to and from the venue would need to be factored in obviously, but it wouldn’t deter me from booking the venue. Plus seeing such a lovely club certainly gave me a new respect for club venues.”
