If you’re scouting options for a team offsite or executive retreat in 2026 or early 2027, the Tweed region (ten minutes south of Gold Coast Airport and two hours from Brisbane) has a couple of new additions worth knowing about.
Hillside Carool, a luxury hinterland venue, is currently undergoing renovation to emerge as a seven-bedroom, seven-bathroom executive retreat with valley views. It’s designed for intimate groups and is due to open in May 2026.
For a beachfront option, Salt Surf Lifesaving Club in Kingscliff is preparing to open a new event space to the wider community in late 2026 or early 2027.
Beyond the meeting room
Tweed Tourism has also launched a Team Building Collection alongside a 2026 Business Events Planner. The digital resource covers venue capabilities, accommodation options and delegate experiences across the region.
The distinctive team building options include a corporate tree planting experience hosted by regenerative farmer Rachael Sanderson. This sees groups working together on hands-on conservation workshops.
Meanwhile, Badlands Vinyl Paint and Sip runs creative sessions inside a record store. Mindfulness in Mangroves offers guided sessions in the region’s mangrove ecosystems – useful as a reset before a strategic workshop or planning day. And Pipit Restaurant runs seafood workshops with hatted chef Ben Devlin, finishing with a bespoke art print inspired by the region’s seafood.
