EAs were treated to a memorable evening of animal encounters, amazing food and drinks and a chance to explore the Taronga Centre
This exciting event started at 6pm after the busy working day, with most guests arriving by ferry and riding the sky safari cable car up from the Ferry Wharf to the main entrance of the Taronga Centre. The first stop was the Piazza, where glasses of pink lemonade were handed round – a fun and fresh way to start the evening. Complimenting the refreshments was a selection of canapés, that EAs could enjoy while mingling with Taronga staff and fellow guests. A quick welcome speech was conducted before guests were escorted through the zoo to our next location, the Garden Court to escape the impending rain.
Here they experienced a Taronga speciality – animal encounters! Two Taronga Zoo Keepers brought a tortoise and a snake for people to see and touch and interact with, while they spoke about the history of the species and their plight in the wild. A portion of all revenue from events goes directly to supporting Taronga Zoo and its international wildlife conservation efforts, and we at the Taronga Centre love having the chance to share some of the knowledge with our clients. More canapés were passed around – this time accompanied by fresh homemade sangria.
Following this, guests were then escorted up to the Terrace for a seated dinner and dessert experience station. A delicious entrée was followed by a main course and served with a selection of house wine and beer. To finish the evening, general manager Patrick Maher got up to say a few words and thank everyone for coming, and then guests devoured the dessert experience station, which was carefully designed and displayed by the amazing team of in-house chefs.
