Following our story a few weeks ago about a very royal PA opportunity, Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales and wife to the heir of the British throne, has another new assistant on her books.
Kate, who is 42-years-old, has given her longtime stylist, PA and close friend Natasha Archer the role of senior private executive assistant to her and husband Prince William. A key position at Kensington Palace, this decision is said by British media to have been interpreted in Royal circles as a reward for Natasha’s loyalty over the years – and the new EA has already updated her LinkedIn page to reflect her role.
Natasha’s career with the Princess of Wales dates back to 2007 and she has been there for all of the key events in her adult life, from royal weddings to new babies to overseas tours. Being a PA was her original role but it evolved to incorporate Kate’s look too, with Natasha tasked with making her boss’ wardrobe look more regal.
Since then, Natasha has encouraged Kate to be more creative with her wardrobe and has been responsible for some of the Princess’ most iconic fashion statements. In 2014, magazine Vanity Fair said that Kate had been a “reluctant fashion icon but now she enjoys it. Tash shops a lot for Kate online and calls in hundreds of dresses to try on. She has persuaded Kate to take more risks. The hemlines are shorter and Kate’s really pushing the boat out in the fashion stakes.”
But that’s not all – Natasha is reportedly on hand day and night as a listening ear; something that has been more evident this year as Kate underwent preventative cancer treatment. Considered a pillar of strength, the 36-year-old helped her boss travel to and from hospital appointments – and was one of the few people seen leaving the clinic where Kate stayed after her abdominal surgery in January.
Sources told British media that: “Natasha deserves this boost. She’s unfailingly discreet and loyal to Kate. The salary boost will be welcome too. This appointment means we can expect to see Natasha by Kate’s side for years to come. It seems to be Kate’s way of thanking her for her royalty.”
