The third annual In house Event Managers Special Interest Group Meeting

Due to overwhelming response, for a third consecutive year the PCOA Conference & Exhibition Program will include an In house Event Managers Special Interest Group Meeting (SIG).

This meeting will offer an opportunity for In-House Event Mangers to share experiences and knowledge, with the objective to carrying on their conversations in a private forum exclusively for In-house Event Manager members.

Barry Neame, PCO Association president said “this forum provides the opportunity to discuss issues and to share ideas in a closed environment specifically for In-House Event Managers.

We do encourage the In-House Event Mangers to also attend as many of the workshops, sessions and networking opportunities as possible”.

Today, more than ever, conference and meeting planners are learning to live with uncertainty. They are forever multi-tasking and are required to be experts in a diverse range of industries – from technology, marketing, advertising, event production, and sponsorship to financial planning and more.

This year’s conference theme ‘Embracing Change’ is a proactive call to all meeting planners to seek out fresh perspectives and try something new. The program will encompass the many facets needed by meeting planners in 2018 and beyond.

Planners constantly are required to keep up with ever-changing trends and technology within the industry, and to prove themselves to be flexible, adaptable and multi-skilled. That is why we will start the conference by asking ‘How Agile Are You?’

Thanks to the generosity of our expert speakers, we will have our best program yet, one which promises delegates an educational, relevant, innovative and memorable two and a half days.

This year there will be a particular focus on stress management for meeting planners. Major changes in the events industry can be stressful at any time. Mental health is one of the most common issues challenging all industries and the program will provide delegates with some tools and strategies to take back to their workplaces.

In addition, there will be plenty of learning as we hear first-hand case studies from industry experts who will impart their knowledge, detail their experiences and successes, and discuss their challenges.

There also will be interactive, peer-to-peer discussion sessions encouraging all delegates to participate and exchange ideas and experiences – a time to ‘make your voice heard, embrace the change and learn how to thrive’.

The 11th Annual PCOA Conference and Exhibition will be held at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre between Sunday 9 and Tuesday 11 December 2018.
