Spicers Hidden Vale: a uniquely Australian experience dripping with luxury

Located in the Southeast Queensland country just one hour from Brisbane is a distinctively Australian experience from a bygone era. Spicers Hidden Vale offers a personal connection with the environment.

The retreat offers space to relax, reconnect and reignite corporate teams and businesses across the 12,000 acre working Australian farm. From the moment you turn into the driveway it’s hard to believe that such a place could exist so close to a major city.

With an ethos of sustainability and a true focus on the guest experience, at the heart of the retreat is a love for the environment and a deep desire to see people experience the wonder of nature when on site. A full quarter—3000 acres—of the property is a declared nature reserve with six spectacular ecosystems to explore. For the active, discover over 100 kilometres of world-class mountain bike trails on an e-bike or guided mountain bike tour, and explore the private nature refuge by Polaris all-terrain vehicle. Or tour through the new Hidden Vale Wildlife Centre managed by the renowned Dr Andrew Tribe from the University of Queensland and get up close and personal to native animals being bred. For corporate groups, on site there are a range of team building experiences and activities from the leisurely to the extreme, including survivor bush challenges, GPS orienteering, human foosball, archery, hot air ballooning, stargazing or market garden tours finishing with a cheese and wine tasting session at sunset.

The relaxed yet sophisticated interiors of the retreat provide the opportunity to regroup, recharge and reinvigorate far away from the office environment. Scattered amongst picturesque country gardens are elegantly restored cottages, some dating back to the 1800s, which have been elegantly restored into guest accommodation. A selection of cottages, suites and luxury bush cabins feature separate lounge areas, wrap around verandas, breathtaking views and open fireplaces, each with their own character.

Boasting natural light, fresh country air and sweeping valley views, Spicers Hidden Vale offers a selection of unique meetings spaces spread across different buildings. State of the art audio visual equipment and wifi are all part of the offering. Conference menus are a key stand out for on site delegates, with the offering designed by the team from Homage Restaurant. Here, our menus are created around the paddock to plate philosophy, featuring the very best produce grown on the property and quite literally down the road. To create a unique dining experience for groups, the retreat offers a superb selection of outdoor options including camp fire dining, star gazing dinners and long table tasting menus under the old oak tree, or in the restored rustic barn.

This year marks an exciting time for Spicers Hidden Vale with the new homestead scheduled for completion by February 2020, following the fire in April 2018 that destroyed the previous homestead. They say good things are worth waiting for and this new property hub, in addition to an upgrade of the entire retreat, is showing it will indeed be worth the wait. This impressive structure is an achievement in design and construction, capturing the stunning valley views and maximizing the natural light. It is sure to boost the hype of this exciting next stage of Spicers Hidden Vale.

Spicers Hidden Vale’s stunning natural location and backdrop, award-winning dining experiences and unique onsite activities make for an unforgettable Australian conference or incentive experience.
