The events industry is looking forward to the kick-off of The Asia Pacific Incentives and Meetings Event (AIME) that will take place at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC) from 10-12 February 2025.
This year’s Knowledge Programme theme, “We Matter!”, underscores the pivotal role the global business events industry plays as an engine of economic growth. Through compelling sessions, attendees will explore the crucial connections between personal well-being, innovation, and professional success.
Keynote speakers
Dr Kristy Goodwin, a renowned neuro-performance scientist and award-winning author, transforms cutting-edge neuroscience research into practical strategies that enhance performance. In her keynote, Powered-Up Performers: The Neuroscience of Sustainable Peak Performance in a Digital Age, Dr Goodwin will share brain-based micro-habits that empower event professionals to boost productivity, manage stress, and maintain sustainable energy in a digitally demanding environment.
“Wellbeing is essential for anyone who wants to continue driving growth in the events industry,” says Dr Goodwin.
Sponsored by Ovations!, her session promises to equip participants with practical tools for professional and personal success.
Gus Balbontin, former Executive Director and CTO of Lonely Planet, brings his rebellious mindset to AIME with his keynote Adapt. Known for his disruptive approach to innovation and change, Balbontin will inspire attendees to embrace discomfort as the gateway to fresh ideas.
“If I don’t make you uncomfortable, you’re not going to learn anything new,” Balbontin asserts. Sponsored by ICMI, his session encourages attendees to break free from conventional thinking and unlock new ways of problem-solving.

The AIME 2025 Knowledge Programme is expected to attract more than 1,500 global event professionals on the opening day. The programme will be curated by BEAMexperience founder El Kwang, who aims to raise the bar on content leadership and learning.
“This year’s dynamic speakers reflect our ambition to craft a superior and relevant Knowledge Programme,” Kwang says. “We’re building on past successes, setting new standards, and reinforcing AIME’s reputation as a leading hub for industry learning.”
