Qantas has upgraded its economy menu on domestic flight, ditching the packaged cheese and crackers snacks, to make way for hot snacks and meals on flights of more than 2 hours.
The new menu, which will be rolled out over the next few weeks includes, delicacies such as, gourmet brekkie burgers, cauliflower bites, scrambled egg brioche and Portuguese chicken ciabatta rolls
The airline’s “tea and coffee service will now extend 4pm and Weiss ice cream bars will be handed out on flights over 3 and half hours.
Qantas said the upgrade is a result of customer feedback. “We are always adjusting our menu in response to customer feedback and to enhance our in-flight dining experience,” Qantas executive manager of product and service, Phil Capps said
The move towards a full service, will help put some distance between competitor Virgin Australia, which offers to ‘buy on board’ service for its economy passengers.
