According to the industry publication Music Business Worldwide, ambitious EAs have just missed out on the opportunity to be the next PA for an undisclosed music artist.
The anonymous company’s requirements included “secretarial, administrative, socials and personal support in a well-organised and timely manner,” a person who was tech-savvy with a good eye for visuals and a candidate willing to “always be with the artist regardless of where they are located in the world at any given time (and at times with short notice).”
Ideally, applicants for this “24/7 in-person role” would work from the musician’s management office in Sydney or home in Los Angeles. That said, the location wasn’t a deal-breaker due to the extensive global travel for the boss’ performances and appearances.
Tasks appeared diverse, ranging from personal washing, dry cleaning and house cleaning to
engaging with clients, followers, influencers, press, and brands.
Other duties included:
- Communicating with event organisers, tour managers, crew and musicians.
- Carrying belongings, retrieving meals, packing suitcases and arranging dressing rooms.
- Capturing footage for social media content.
- Working on maintaining and growing all social media platforms.
- Making travel arrangements.
- Screening and directing social media DMs, emails, texts and phone calls.
- Video and photo editing.
- Managing and scheduling meetings and appointments.
- Filing paperwork.
