Monaco lifts the bar for global incentive travel with major MICE developments

The developments reinforce Monaco’s position as a smart and competitive alternative to traditional European incentive hubs such as London and Paris.

Monaco has unveiled a trio of significant developments that reinforce its ambition to be one of Europe’s most compelling destinations for international business events and high-end incentive travel.

Leading the news is Mareterra, Monaco’s new eco-district built on reclaimed land and designed as a sustainable extension of the principality. The waterfront precinct introduces new public spaces, landscaped areas and contemporary architecture, creating fresh options for hosting premium incentive experiences while aligning with Monaco’s long-term environmental strategy.

The destination’s flagship convention venue, Grimaldi Forum Monaco, is also undergoing a major expansion. The project will increase exhibition capacity by 50 percent, delivering more than 41,000 square metres of modular exhibition space alongside additional auditoriums, meeting rooms and outdoor event areas. Once complete, the expanded forum will be capable of welcoming up to 6,000 delegates per day, significantly boosting Monaco’s ability to host large-scale international conferences and exhibitions.

Completing the update is the launch of a new Visit Monaco website, designed specifically to support event planners. The platform features an integrated itinerary planner, making it easier for event organisers to design tailored programmes that combine meetings, accommodation, dining and exclusive experiences across the destination.

Together, the developments signal a clear message to the global meetings and incentives market. Monaco is not only expanding its capacity but refining its tools and precincts to meet the evolving expectations of international business travellers, incentive groups and event organisers.

Together, the developments reinforce Monaco’s position as a smart and competitive alternative to traditional European incentive hubs such as London and Paris. Outside peak season, hotel pricing can be more cost-competitive, while the destination’s compact footprint delivers a major operational advantage, with hotels, venues and experiences all within easy walking distance. With more than 150 venues specialising in groups, a rare blend of history, culture and luxury, and the ability for delegates to experience three countries (Monaco, France and Italy) in a single day, the principality continues to punch well above its size as a high-impact incentive and meetings destination.
