A popular British newspaper revealed the controversial rules ‘new money millionaire’ and businesswoman Polina Nioly Pushkareva has for her personal assistant. And it has led to debates, with some people suggesting she is “patronising the help”.

The Daily Mail explains that Polina “grew up poor” in Russia before going on to become a wealthy, influential entrepreneur. Now she owns five businesses and her Instagram page says she is a Hollywood movie producer.

She has a total of four PAs (she has one with her at all times) and Polina admits the job comes with a variety of perks and responsibilities.

What do you think of the five jet-setting-focused rules that got people talking?

  1. She gives a ‘per-diem’ allowance of $500, this covers business clothes, food, taxis and internet when the PA is on the road.
  2. When travelling, Polina’s staff are strictly economy-only. But if they would like to sit with her they can (if they upgrade using their salary).
  3. The PAs are allowed in the same five-star hotels as their boss… But in a lower-grade room.
  4. Successful business trip? The assistant gets a luxury thank you gift.
  5. Working hours when travelling are four hours in the morning and four in the evening. The rest is the PA’s free time.

Although Polina revealed that she becomes friends with her staff many readers were less than impressed.

Comments ranged from: “Ew. This has big, big ‘look how nice I am to the help’ energy and it is gross!” to “Did you try to flex by telling us that you purposely downgrade all of her accommodations? And she’s your ‘friend’”?

Others, though, applauded the perks: “She’s literally getting everything paid for. Why are people complaining?”
