Have a detox in the ice bath and sauna; or try your hand in the state of-the-art Golf Simulator. Or relax in the award-winning gardens and natural ecosystems enjoying a glass of wine and local cheese platter around the firepit, or even host a woodfired pizza night.
Kalinya Estate owners Chris and Mandy Barnes found their own secret hideaway at the gateway to the southern highlands 20 years ago. “We had searched through many Highlands estates, but none of them felt a as grand, as fun or as relaxing as Kalinya. Maybe it was something in the name (Kalinya is an aboriginal word that means Good Beautiful and Honest), but we loved the property’s heart and soul so much we set to slowly repair and restore every corner.”
The restored Homestead is one of the finest examples of colonial architecture and craftsmanship in Australia – the Lodge was originally a medical centre for the region and was transformed into a rural chalet with exposed timber beams – the Barn was originally used to build submarines and is now a multipurpose entertainment centre.
