Hilton Surfers Paradise pulls back the curtain on first stage of $9m refurb

Hilton Surfers Paradise Hotel & Residences has unveiled the first stage of a $9 million refurb, which doubles the property’s capacity for meetings.

The construction also saw the addition of a new, full-service Executive Lounge and nine guests rooms on the 15th floor.

The largest makeover in the hotel’s eight-year history will continue across multiple stages, with a ‘reinvention’ of the lobby, an all-day dining area and an art gallery.

Hilton Surfers Paradise Commercial Director, Max Houri said the first stage of this multi-
million-dollar project is supporting the hotel’s capacity to cater for the city’s conference and events industry.

“The business events space is worth around $540 million a year for the Gold Coast and we
are committed to doing all we can to attract even more domestic and international groups to our city.”

Catering for up to 160 guests, the Promenade Room is the latest addition to the hotel’s meeting spaces.

“Our refurbishment has seen us double our meeting rooms to four spaces including the
brand new Promenade Room with plans to grow that number even further in the near future.”

Hilton Surfers Paradise General Manager, Fiona Pryde said the hotel is already considered
a star performer in the global hotel company’s meetings and events space.

“We know we are delivering exceptional conference experiences to our existing clients and
we are looking forward to being able to showcase our renowned services to even more
delegates as we launch our newly created Promenade Room,” Ms Pryde said.
