In a press conference today [18 March] Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison has placed a ban on non-essential indoor gatherings of 100 people or more.
In the conference, the PM also announced a ‘level-four travel ban’, which restricts all travel overseas—no matter the destination.
The official advice is that schools will remain open, following the Singaporean model of social distancing.
The Chief Medical Officer has said that a country-wide shutdown is not necessary according to experts’ recommendations.
