Robert De Niro’s company has been order to pay over $1.2 million to Graham Chase Robinson who wash is former personal assistant after his production company was found to engage in gender discrimination and retaliation.
De Niro and Robinson had been involved in lawsuits since she left her job in 2019.
Robinson, claimed that De Niro and his partner Tiffany Chen, had effectively attempted to make her working conditions intolerable.
De Niro and Chen claimed that Robinson became a difficult employee and made escalating demands to remain in her position. Her salary was increased from $100,000 to $300,000 and that she requested and was given the title of vice president of production and finance, despite her responsibilities remaining the same.
De Niro claimed that when she left Robinson stole airline miles and violated his unwritten rules to use common sense and always do the right thing.
She said she has suffered from anxiety and depression since leaving and despite applying for 638 jobs, she hadn’t worked in 4 years.
Niro’s lawyers unsuccessfully sued for breach of loyalty and fiduciary before she had filed her complaint in 2019.
