UK-based millionaire, Barrie Drewitt-Barlow, is the latest person to have their slightly unusual advertisement for a PA highlighted in the media.
The 54-year-old entrepreneur, who has eight children via surrogacy and hit headlines in 1999 for being Britain’s first gay dad with his ex-partner, is looking for an assistant whose remit will range from helping dress him to jetting around the world.
Although the position is UK-based, there will be a lot of travel to the USA and Asia, and the ideal candidate should be “able and willing to work away from home and they should have no issue with travelling and being away for weeks, and sometimes months at a time”.
Tasks will include:
- “Cataloguing, organising and caring for the principle’s wardrobe”, including offering clothing suggestions, “assisting him with dressing” and “maintaining the appearance of footwear, clothing and outerwear as required”.
- Overseeing the principle’s packing, shopping and travel preparation. Ensuring chef menus are approved weekly, helping serve all meals and bartending for the principal and guests when required.
- Arranging household help, facilitating schedules, organising transport, running errands and managing a team of up to 10.
- Child-related administration, from scheduling activities to organising birthday parties with the nannies and chef.
The chosen candidate will be working full time; 10-hour days from Monday to Friday. And they’ll be paid between £30,000 and £40,000. No formal experience is necessary, but the right person should be “upbeat and articulate” with a “can-do service-oriented attitude.”
The lifestyle of the businessman, who is said to be worth £200m, includes £20,000 meals out, a chauffeur-driven Rolls Royce and travelling between his seven lavish mansions.
He and his ex-partner made their millions from entrepreneurial ventures, including a trans-Atlantic surrogacy business and a global medical research company.
