Many of you might not know me personally, so allow me to introduce myself. My name is Tyler Watkins, Editor of Chief of Staff magazine and one of the resident writers on the Executive PA website. I’m currently out of the office and exploring my other job as a professional Irish dancer. Not what you expected, was it? It never usually is the first thing people expect to hear from me.
But, alas, here I am on tour with a professional Irish dance show called ‘A Taste of Ireland’—coming to a theatre near you soon. I’m on the road with this company for the next few months and thought, “Why not combine both of my jobs?”.
So, as I tour around Australia I thought I might share some of the best event, conference, or meeting options in the area we’re travelling to each week. Today’s location is Wyong, located in the Central Coast of NSW.
Just over an hour’s drive from Sydney, Wyong is a beautifully scenic place that exudes peace and serenity. Its lakeside views and fresh breeze off the water makes for a relaxing setting. I have two top picks that are great options for meetings and conferences, should you be looking for a break away from the hustle and bustle of office life.
The Art House
I was lucky enough to perform on The Art House stage over the weekend and I can say firsthand, this is a stunning venue. Modern, clean, but welcoming, it’s not just a theatre for live performance. The Art House has a meeting room of 90m2 linked to the bar and is available from a two-hour hire to a full (or multiple) day hire. The Studio is also perfectly capable and equipped to host meetings or conferences, with tiered seating for up to 130 people. And of course, the 500-seat Theatre is also available for large-scale business events and conferences.

Wyong Race Club
Not only does Wyong Race Club have outstanding event facilities, but it also has a highly capable Events Team to help from concept to completion. The club offers a range of customisable event spaces and packages to help bring your event to life, not to mention the stunning trackside views. The Wyong Race Club is situated just over an hour’s drive from Sydney’s CBD, an hour from Newcastle, and only a short 5 minute walk from the Wyong train station.
