Course Content

Understanding & setting event objectives. Identifying your key performance indicators and creating
your event plan.

Developing a run-sheet with relevant content and rationale for each section. Guidance on how to use this as part of preparation and on-site planning

The principles of engaging the audience, meeting room set ups and maximising audience
engagement. Getting the day right through perfect timing and scheduling speakers

Overview of what elements of a contract can be negotiated and what should be negotiated. What
reasonable flexibility can be built into an agreement in the post-COVID event space.

Working with speaker agencies and other ways to access relevant speakers. Crafting
relevant session content and providing the speaker with information to wow your audience.
Managing speaker contracts, speaker fees and on-costs

COVID precaution is just the start. How can you ensure that your contractors, partners and team are managing risk effectively and just who is responsible for this? This session gives you the answers to these challenging questions and provides guidance and help to evaluate the likelihood of risk and strategies to manage each risk effectively.

Jo works with Meetings & Events Australia (MEA) as their National Education Manager, to deliver bespoke event management training as well as the association’s own Diploma program.

She has 20 plus years’ experience in the travel, tourism & events industry at senior management level. She has held the position of Principal Lecturer in Tourism, Events & Travel with TAFE SA, and serves on a number of industry committees. Jo is ‘hands on’ and co-ordinates events in her spare time just for fun.
